When was your grandmother born, who were her parents, who did she marry, and have you found any other relatives of her?

Thank-you

Have you tried RootsChat's Surnames Interest Table?

Scroll down to the bottom of any RC page.
In the Dark Brown/Black section, underneath "Your Tools" you will find "Surname Interests.

Click on that; then Quick Search; then select the initial letter (M).
Then scroll through the M surnames until you find Masterson; click on that, and you will find a list of users researching Masterson! ;D

son born in Kinsale is my father (born 1908) first child of 13 born to Sarah & Mark.

Second child (Auntie Elizabeth) was born is Pewsey (1910).
all the others were born in Preston between 1911 & 1929, EXCEPT for one son, who was
born in Malta during Marks tour of duty. That son is called Frank and was born in 1921.

As you know about all their children, have you investigated their marriages, children, deaths, etc etc and looked on 192.com for them?

I haven't no.
I know some of them because they are my cousins, but with such a big family, people
move away, and you don't know who had how many children.
to be honest with you I'm not sure where I would look first.
All Marks and Sarah's children are now dead, except for one, who is now at a age he can't remember very much.
Should have started this search years ago.

If you get all the birth certificates for exact dates of birth, (or already know them) you will increase your chances of finding their deaths.

Those death certificates will have the informant's names on them, who may be a relation.

Some of your cousins may know of other cousins, so you slowly build up your network of contacts/links.

This site does not do living relatives - have you considered using other sites, that do?

One of the more famous Irish Mastersons. Bartholomew (Bat) Masterson, born a subject of HM Queen Victoria, on November 26, 1853 at Henryville, now Quebec, Canada. Son of Thomas M. Masterson and his wife Catherine U. McGurk. Thomas born in Cadada of Irish heritage and Bat's mother born in Ireland.  Lawman and gunfighter and in latter years a Newspaperman. One quote from him I like:

"Every dog, we are told, has his day, unless there are more dogs than days."

Hi,

Sarah Masterson and Mark Brown are my great grandparents. I'm the grandson of their youngest son Norman.

I'd love to find out more about them both!

Thanks.

Why don't you send a personal message, phbrown66,  to ROGibson? Then you can exchange email addresses & continue your family chat about living relatives.  Just click on the 'text' icon under his/her name & the personal message box will open.

Hi pbrown66 - you wrote -

I am Frank's daughter, Melanie.  Frank was good friends with James and Betty Marsh who lived in Preston.  I was born in Dec' 1964 in Preston, as Betty and Frank had a long standing affair - so I was illegitimate.  I used to meet him every week, secretly for years. Often in Blackburn where he lived.  His wife Ivy knew about me but nothing was ever mentioned.  I met Helen, his sister often and her husband Bobby in Preston too.  Perhaps we could exchange emails and catch up? I guess you'd be my cousin? I hope you get this message! I have a few photographs of him, and news clippings of Grandads death report.  Kind regards Melanie

Melanie's inbox isn't full ;D

A member has to make at last 2 posts (or is it 3?!) before the PM system is open to them.
So if Melanie makes another post you should be able to send her a PM.
