Hello Everyone
I'm looking for some help if possible
I have relatives who left Glasgow Scotland for Canada in 1905.
Andrew Marshall and his wife Catherine Strachan Marshall
They left Glasgow heading to Quebec on the ship called Ionian May 27th 1905.
They eventually settled in Vancouver.
They had 3 children that I know of Andrew and Agnes both born in glasgow and Jane the youngest born in Canada.
I know andrew married Carrie Mabel Finners (a widow) and he was tragecally killed in a bad fire on christmas eve 1949 - I believ they had several children can any one help me with this information...
I have no information at all on agness
and I have that jane married william hendry carswell but no information other than this -
please help

Hi Paul you can view Andrews death record at Royal B C Museum Canada his death was registered by his son D S Marshall

Also Jane Elsie Carswell died 27/12/1949 married to William Henry Carswell father Andrew Marshall mother Catherine Stratton ..

No I am in Scotland but if you google Royal B C Museum Canada click on the page and you can view the records ...You will probably find the family it does not cost anything .
This is the family in 1921 census at 1539 4th W Vancouver
Andrew Marshall b 1869 Scotland age 52 occupation labourer
Catherine Marshall b 1871 Scotland age 50
Andrew Marshall b 1894 Scotland age 27 occupation Mechanic
Agnes Marshall b1902 Scotland age 19 Saleslady
Jane Marshall b 1906 Canada age 15 Student

Oh my, how very sad :'( Andrew and Jane dying within days of each other.
Just in case you're not finding it on google, this is the site for Royal BC Museum. The marriage and death of Jane are on this page, just click on the red numbers at the bottom of the page to view the original documents.
Then you can go back to the top of the page, and click on "Back to Search" and search for others.

News paper article says his sister died from shock when she heard the news her daughter was there at the time all the children were lead to safety ..very sad indeed

How are you doing with searching the RBCM website? Have you gotten any further with the children of Andrew and Carrie?
Here is Carrie Marshall's 1970 death record. I notice the informant is a son with the initials A S Marshall living at the time in Prince Rupert, BC.

Thank you everyone that's helped me so far. I have found carries son andrew strachan marshall but the story gets worse..... he commited suicide at the age of 22 by shooting himself.... this family have seriously endured so much.....

The post you referred to was deleted - I made a note of it in a reply above.
You are under the misapprehension that Carries Son Andrew Strachen Marshall shot himself aged 22 years and that was not the case - sadly it was his son John Strachen Marshall who died. Just pointing it out for you to put your records straight.

There is a bit of confusion about the Andrew Marshall that died in 1949, his grandson John Andrew Marshall died of suicide Mar 1970, who was the son Andrew strachan Marshall born Mar 2 1926
