Harry Light of the South Wales Borderers died of Lobar Pneumonia and Toxaemia on 20 February 1917 in Windy Knowe Military Hospital.
Has anyone got any information on the whereabouts of this hospital or even better a picture?

Thanks Miriamkinga. I wondered if there was an address or a street name so that I could look it up on a map

According to the Liverpool Daily Post - Tuesday 26 May 1914 Windy Knowe was situated between Burbo Bank Road and The Serpentine, Blundellsands. http://maps.nls.uk/view/101103461#zoom=5&lat=2465&lon=6824&layers=BT It might be this building http://goo.gl/maps/avXJp

Sefton Council have a Conservation Area report for Blundellsands Park, It may have a mention there. It is 4mb download, too big for my broadband speed.

According to Gore's Directory of Liverpool & Birkenhead, 1900. [Part 1: Street List & Street Directory] Windy Knowe is the house at the junction of Burbo Bank Road and The Serpentine South.

Just to confirm that, from the 1911 census, Windy Knowe is the house opposite Seapoint House on the map.

Thanks Stan. I will have a look at the 1911 census to see who lived there

This is now called Montfort House, Burbo Bank Road. It is still standing today and is kept in great condition.. Great piece of History!!

Thank you very much for the info. It's good to know that it's still there and well looked after. I haven't managed to go and see the house yet....still on my 'to do' list!
