I note that another member has asked this question before, but then it resolved itself -- no such luck for me. I pay for the image but a blank screen appears. I have clicked on it, tried changing the viewer, all without success. I asked scotlandspeople and their response was basically that the fault was mine (which is probably is). What am I not doing, which is terribly obvious?

Have you tried changing it to direct download your images should still be there if you go into previous searches

Wow! Thank you so much rosie17! Most grateful! However, having done that and actually SEEN the documents I have a further question you may be able to help me with -- what is a 'hynd', given as the occupation of a baby's father?
-
Think Hynd /Hind is the same as a farm labourer but maybe some one else to confirm this ???
-
Sounds very likely but will wait for further confirmation. Thank you.

Just googled and Hynd /Hind used a lot in Scotland 1 Domestic servant /A skilled farm labourer :)

So the one thing ... or the other thing. Thank you again!!
