I was wondering if someone can help me find our what happened to William j Preece born in 1911. He is the half brother of my father Ronald Preece. His mother remarried a Robert Christie. The children of that marriage Robert A Christie and Ernest M Christie .

My Grandfatheris William Patrick Preece He Married a Ethel Maude Duncan had they had a child James Preece. My grandfather lived with a Leila Ramsay there are 2 sons from that relationship. One of the children is my Father Ronald Preece. I am trying to find our what happened to James Preece also know as Willaim J preece . William J preece mother Maiden name was Ethel Maude Duncan - married a Robert Christie and they had two sons

There is a lot of confusion because on the NSW BDM index lists the marriage of William Preece to Ethel Maude Duncan on the 1910, There was a son James A born to the couple, also in 1910. Ethel Maude Preece later went on the marry a Robert Christie and on the death certificate it lists a son William J no surname. My Grandfather William Preece enters a relationship with Leila Ramsay and they have two sons. My father is one of the sons Ronald Preece. I would like to find our what happened to my fathers half brother.

Her death certificate shows she as a widow . I just assumed that they were married .It lists on her death certificate children of the marriage

On Ethel Maude Christie death certificate it lists her as a widow. The children of the marriage
is listed as 1st Marriage - William J 49

Surnames of children are not listed on NSW death certificates.

Yes this is my William Patrick Preece also known as William Preece. He was born in Sandford Vic . He also put no to being married on the attestation Paper. I appreciate all the information about William Preece as I have no knowledge on him or his ancestors. I am interested to find more about this William John Christie- it sounds like he could be my dads half brother.

I would suggest that William John CHRISTIE is the person you are seeking :). He used the surname of his mother's partner. He is living with Ethel Maude and her family on the electoral roll and his age at death is a match for his year of birth.
Perhaps his death certificate may have some identifying information. You can purchase a transcription from
