Post by: maddys52 on Saturday 29 November 14 04:53 GMT (UK)
Just wondering what Joseph and Sarah's surname is? This is the 1851 Ickford census, could it be "Cross"?

thanks in advance

The surname looks more like Cross in 1861 and there is a baptism that matches for Joseph on Family Search  https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NJDZ-6QX  Edit -It does remind me of how the double S in Russell can be written and transcribed as Ruppell or Ruffell

Thanks so much Kay and Sami! Cross it is then.  :) Interesting to see how the double s was formed.
