i am trying to find birth and family details for Lloyd Edward Lewis b abt 1867 around Forden in Montgomeryshire
I have found Lloyd Edward Lewis at age 14 in the 1881 Census. It states he was a farm servant at Munlyn and that he was born in about 1867 in Forden Parish. Following on from this I have him through subsequent censuses and his marriage to Kate Julia Gough at Forden Registry Office. His marriage certificate states his father is Edward Lewis. I also have his death certificate.
I can't seem to track down his birth and his mother, father and siblings if any. I have searched FreeBMD.
Can anybody help on tracking him down please.

I am wondering if , for some reason, he might be the Edward Lloyd Francis, birth reg Jna/Feb/Mar 1867 in Montgomery Reg District
In 1871 is under Lloyd Francis, age 4, with grandmother Jane Francis, living in Forden, born in Forden.
No trace in later censueses under Francis ..... maye then starts using Lewis?

Thanks for your ideas. The idea of him changing his name to Lewis from Francis is an intriguing one.
I do have some suspicions that there is something odd here because he and his wife were married in 1889 they were living in Chirbury but were married in Forden registry office rather than a church - I wonder why when later in life he was a devout church goer.
We do know that his wife was illegitimate but would that be enough to not have a church wedding ?

Going back to the Francis child, seems he was christened Mar 1867

You may find someone on here is able to check out what, if anything, the register says for his parents.
He may be a red herring, but cant find anyone else that even remotedly fits the bill.

One thought that crossed my mind about Forden was the heavy emphasis on discussion regarding the participation of the workhouse there... Could the area be overly poor and families just couldnt survive...??? anyways just a thought....
