Hi, I am searching for anyone who has the above in their Family Tree or who has any information on either. I believe Clifford Calverley's (c: 1915) parents are George Calverley c: 1882 & Elizabeth Ann (Nee Webster) c: 1882. Many thanks

Finally, have you checked RootsChat's Surnames Interest Table?
At the bottom of any RC page, in the dark area, you will find "Surname Interests".
Click on that, and then "Quick Search", and then the initial letter of the surname.
Then scroll down to find the name you are interested in.
There are 2 RootsChatters researching Calverley.
Why not add your own interests while you are there?

Thanks to all for your replies. Am interested now to know if Clifford & Alice had any children. I am on most of the websites but have had no luck. :-*

PS: hope I'm in the right place to reply :)

RootsChat has a policy of not mentioning the names of living, or potentially living, people.
If Clifford was born in 1915, then he would have married sometime around WW2?
And any children born to a marriage might still be alive!
So you'll need to check on FreeBMD for yourself.

Marriage
Jul/Aug/Sep 1945
Islington
Ref 1b 525
Clifford Calverley /Alice L M Bartholomew
I cant immediately see any Calverley births with mothers maiden name Bartholomew.
But I guess there is the possibility that Alice had been married beforeand Bartholomew was not actually her maiden name.

There is this possibility but would need to be confirmed with certificates (the middle initials swap around :-\ )

which would tie in with
Alice M L Fitts

Not quite sure now about my last post as middle names are Lilian Margaret but 'Molly' could be a 'nickname'

It certainly has a lot going for it! I cant see a birth under Alice M L (or L M) Bartholomew, for example. Plus the Essex deaths for both of them (the Hospice that covers Brentwood area is in Havering, as are some Hospitals used by Brentwood residents).
But as you say, needs confirmation. Many a time things look as if they could tie up, but when it comes to it you find you are looking at random events in the lives of several different people!
Well found though - and well worth following up , as I said it has a lot going for it.
Might be worth looking to see if Clifford left a will - that might clarify his wifes name and might also list any children of they did have any. Or getting Clifford and Alices marriage cert to confirm if she was a widow previously Fitts or not.

Hi to everyone, can you tell me if this is the way to thank you all for your replies?. I have ordered the Birth Certificate for Clifford and have considered the Alice ML & Alice LM possibilities. Once I have the Birth Certificate I am going to order the marriage certificate as well. I am getting very excited at the possibility that this may be the couple I am looking for as the rest of the family came from Dagenham, Essex. Clifford was unknown until a fellow Calverley Researcher found his birth record which matched his parents with my Grandfather's parents. Thank you all once again.
-
Yes, it is the way to say thank you :) We are always pleased to be able to help.
Do let us know what the certificates say when they arrive.

I certainly will :D

Hey All, I found them. Thank you so much. The Bartholomew/Fitts link turned out to be correct. I would never have found this without your help. I contacted the living relative and he is as excited as I am. He didnt know we existed either. Big Thumbs Up

Glad it all worked out ok :)
