abt 1820 - 1879 married Henrietta Fowell CANAVAN 1834 - 1890. I have the children , occupation etc
My brick wall is John's father - I cannot find a name to start with. One suggestion from an online tree is Thomas THOMAS b 1796 but I cannot evidence it and no response from tree manager.
Can anyone help me find John's father or even his mother please? I have looked on various paid/non paying sites, in the Welsh censuses and online records to no avail. :'( This is my paternal pedigree line

Hello Debsss
Can I assume you don't have a copy of their marriage cert ?
Henrietta Fowell Canavan
John Henry Thomas
Jun q 1852
Registration district
Haverfordwest
11a 965
Hopefully Fathers names will be on cert
You can apply online to the General Record Office in Southport & give them the above info.
Good Luck

Thank you omega re GRO. I've just discovered another chatter who has asked questions many years ago about other members of the same extended family. So I will message her too.

The father named as Henry THOMAS on the marriage cert. No mother mentioned. We think the mother may be Elizabeth Parcell.

Hello Debsss
Thank-you for letting my know.
Not sure if you are aware, but the Mothers names aren't on Welsh/English marriage certs, only Fathers
Can you tell my where John was living when he married?then I will see what I can find out for you.
King regards

Hi Omega For some reason I missed notification of your message sorry. John's residence at time of marriage is listed as Norton St, Tenby, Wales. Thank you for any help :)

John Henry Thomas is shown as from Begelly in later censuses, and presumably this is the marriage of who you believe to be his parents?

Hi there
Yes this is who we believe to be his parents --- matching names, location from JHT's baptism record
