I'm trying to help a friend, who lives in South Africa, and is a descendant of Cornelius Donovan Blayney.
From Family Search we have the following baptisms of children born on the Isle of Man. However, I would be most grateful if someone could verify the entries from the parish records themselves - regarding occupation, etc. I'm assuming that Isle of Man parish records are similar to the ones in England, and occupations and residence are entered for baptisms.
10 March 1832 - Ramsey - Esther, daughter of Cornelius Donovan Blayney and Margaret.
12 January 1834 - St Barnabas, Douglas - Robert, son of Cornelius Blayney and Margaret.
22 October 1835 - St Barnabas, Douglas - Mary Jane, daughter of Cornelius Donovan Blayney and Margaret.
Many thanks in advance.

From iMuseum.im:
Baptism, 22 October 1835, Parish: Braddan, Abode: Douglas
Mary Jane Blayney, daughter of Cornelius Blayney (keeper of livery stables) & Margaret Blayney (née Welch).
Baptism, 12 January 1834, Parish: Braddan, Abode: Douglas
Robert Blayney, son of Cornelius Blayney (gentleman) & Margaret Blayney (maiden name not stated).
Not seeing Esther at the moment!
Snap, Shaun!!
If you feel it's important, I could check the original PR's at the Manx Museum later today?

I assume you have seen the Marriage Licence Index?
Dublin, Probate Records and Marriage Licence Index

1865 marriage of Mary Jane http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/display-pdf.jsp?pdfName=d-545-3-1-035
Per the Waterford Mail (11 September 1865) she was the only daughter of the late Cornelius D. Blayney, Esq, Mount Henry, County Wexford.
-
Thank you so much gentlemen. I'd only seen the entries via Ancestry. Your help is much appreciated.
All the best

No problem!
PM me if you need those original PR's.
I live a 5 minute walk away from the Manx Museum! ;D
. . . and the iMuseum!
Newspapers are free to look up if you walk into the iMuseum ;)

AND thank you for the marriage entries. I had seen the marriage licence entry for Cornelius. And it's lovely to see that one of the witnesses to Mary Jane's marriage was my friend's direct ancestor - William Walsh Blayney. :)

Dublin Weekly Register, 26 September 1846:
In Oulartleigh. county Wexford, Cornelius D. Blayney, Esq, son of Captain Blayney, Dunville, county Dublin.
-
Thank you Shaun.
-
Per Alumni Dublinenses, Cornelius was the son of Robert Blayney

Shaun - that entry in the Dublin Weekly Register in 1846 - any clues as to what kind of entry it was? I assume it was a death entry.
Unfortunately that "tiny url" doesn't seem to work for me :'(
However, many thanks for the information.
-
That is indeed a death notice in 1846.
I expect you already have the marriage of William Walsh Blayney http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/display-pdf.jsp?pdfName=d-45-3-20-056
Here is the long URL for that Alumni snippet https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=NNjNAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA74&img=1&pgis=1&dq=%22blayney+cornelius%22&sig=ACfU3U1wnu9gv5U9Lk4brPY7lSleGMKBtw&edge=0

Many thanks for the marriage, and the entry in the Alumni - it worked :D

Just found the images on Family Search for the burials of Ester and Robert Blayney at Kirk Braddan - 17 May 1833 (aged 1 year) and 5 April 1834 (aged 3 months). :'(
-
Both burials are on the iMuseum site - as Blaney ;D
-
William's Royal Navy record is viewable on FindMyPast. Short but informative. He died of pneumonia on HMTS Serapis on 22 December 1889, following quinsey - the result of a chill caught during embarkation of troops at Portsmouth.
-
Thank you once again - luckily I have a subscription to FindMyPast. And my friend is just over the moon ;D ;D She may have to go and lie down in a darkened room :-*
-
Found Esther! ;D
10th March 1832 at Ramsey
Esther Blayney daughter of Cornelius Donovan and Margaret, alias Walsh his wife
Private baptism
Not much information on the burial register for Esther or Robert, except that it was Kirk Braddan.
That was almost certainly the Old Churchyard.
I know there is a typed MI list inside the Old Church; so I'll try to see if I can find a grave?
-
Thank you so much, that is very kind of you.

Many thanks. I'll pass that on to my friend, who is a descendant of William Walsh Blayney. :)
