Title: Stephen Webb & Mary (Amor) Webb of Bromham
Post by: rickjt62 on Thursday 01 January 15 18:11 GMT (UK)
Hi & Happy New Year  :)

Mary (Amor) Webb was my gggf's sister, baptised in Melksham 4 Mar, 1821, the d/o John Amor & his wife Sarah (Truman) Amor

They resided at Bromham where, on 13 May, 1841 she married Stephen Webb (baptised Bromham 14 Nov, 1819)

On the 1841 Census (taken the night of 6 June) they lived at Loophole (Loophill) in Bromham ..... and that is it - no record of them after this date

Has anyone any interest in this family and, if so has anyone made any discoveries as to their fate?

Kind regards,
Rich

Have you checked out public trees on ancestry and other sites?

One has Stephen dead in Alderbury in 1842.

Added:
Several have this death (all copying each other?)
Alderbury to Bromham is more than 30 miles, but if it is his death, then you are then looking for a new marriage for Mary etc etc.

Hi Rich,

As an aid, have you tried the Wilts On-Line-Parish clerk? Here's their address;

http://www.wiltshire-opc.org.uk/genealogy/index.php/parish-directory

You may have to register with them first but its all free.

They have some transcriptions for baptisms (only) in Bromham and it is interesting to note that there is a Mary Amor bapt.. 15-4-1821 the d/o George & Rebecca.
I only list this as she married there in 1841.
May be  a red-herring.

I meant to say - do you have her marriage cert.? to say who her father was.

Alan

There are also some trees on ancestry with Mary Amor, daughter of George and Rebecca, born in 1821 and dying in 1820.  (I initially read that as 1920, but, no, birth 1821, death 1820.)
