Hi Alanally,
;D Welcome to RootsChat ;D
What do you already know about Vera - was McGUIN(N)ESS her married surname?

Hi Allan,
Do you mean this person on the NSW Australia Electoral Roll in 1937edit 1943
McGuiness, Vera May 29 Corlette St. Newcastle NSW

McGuiness was her maiden name, she married 25 January 1964, Nsw to Sidney Ernest O'Neill. I will be applying for certificate now time limit is up. Sidney died Marrickville 1974, do have his death certificate but only death extract for Vera.
Do not know if that is the one in the electrol roll in 1943. Many thanks. Alanally.

The next roll shows her with Edward Stanley at the same address and they had married in 1928. However as electoral rolls do not show relationships it is possible that she was his daughter, not his wife of the same name.
The marriage cert is your best option as it is difficult to find specific info for people born in that time period.

Thank you Debra, one gets anxious but will have to do the waiting game by the look of it. I have info on her husbands side but Vera has been difficult to trace Last known address was at Pitt Street, Waterloo in 1980. Thanks, Alanally.

This link to ww2 record for Edward Stanley McGuiness born 1902.

It suggests his non-appearance on the 1943 Electoral Roll may be due to his war service.

Hi,
Welcome to RootsChat :)
I think the Vera and Edward found in the Electoral Rolls could be this couple,
Marriage
Edward S MACGUINESS
Vera M JOHNSON
Glen Innes, New South Wales
1928
If so, not your Vera born 1922.
Regards,
Daisy

Thanks Daisy, certainly looks like not my Vera as she was born 1922 so could not marry 1928, maybe not a child of that couple either.

Hi, I am the grand daughter of Edward S Macguiness. Vera May Macguiness nee Johnson has been missing since 1947-1948 (not sure which year she left). She left a letter but to this day? No-one has found her. Any help would be appreciated
