I think the picture / writing is up side down. Have tried rotating it

Very difficult to read. I can see the dates 1943 - 1946 and not much else apart from the name Alexandra at the very end.

Over to others with better eyesight than mine!

It's definitely upside down, I don't think it's back to front as I can see the same detail as lazydaisy

Is it Alexandria at the end, as in the city.

Think I can make Royal Artillery out too.

Hi Spices, reason I think Alexandria is because of the dates and military subject. I know I had a family member there those dates with the RAF.

The first visible number I can see is 3 (but could possibly be 8) then a space then 6 then space  then 2.
Unclear if any numbers before the 3 or in the spaces between 6 & 2.

Will have another look tomorrow when my eyes aren't so tired

LD

Oops the number in the bracket above should read 8

Hi Peter

I hope this is helpful but the best I can do right now is;

362 HAA Royal
Artillery 1940 3
1st Armoured RFR
Group RAMC CME
??? 1943 -
1946 CRE4-R
??? Alexandria

And I am not 100 per cent sure of any of that and it might look completely different in the morning.

Regards

Martin

Good evening,

I would agree with HAA Royal Artillery but 362 was a searchlight battery.

Having played with this through 4 manipulation programs, the numbers top left would suggest "262" not "362". Still struggling with the bottom left.
