Title: John Brace
Post by: peterg42 on Sunday 18 January 15 21:36 GMT (UK)
According to the information that I have to date, John Brace b 1800) was married to Elinor (sic) also born ca 1800. According to the 1841 census. he was a Blacksmith in Presteigne with Elinor plus childrenJohn & Eliza (b 1826) Elizabeth (b 1828) and Emma (b1832). I cannot find any record of their marriage or Elinor's maiden name. I believe that John died in 1856 and Elinor in 1879. Can anybody throw any light on either John or Elinor's parents and when and where they married, please.

Michaelchurch makes more sense, as it is nearer to brilley.
I can see an Evan Worthin and Thomas Worthing in the 1851, one claiming to be born brilley, the other huntington, but strangely there are birth reg. for them in llanfihangel rhrydithion.

John brace is a bit elusive
Brilley is bit remote, I can only think that one of them must have been living there when they married, given that Evan and Thomas 1804 and 1806 think they were born there could they be Eleanor's brothers

Hi I believe I am related to Eleanor through her sister Ann they were both children I believe of David and Susana Worthing of Brilley. Ann married my ancestor James Shufflebottom of Hanley, Staffordshire. Ann was born c. 1814 in Brilley on her and James daughter Deborahs baptism it is stated that Ann was a daughter of David Worthing of Kington, Hereford. How James met Ann I don't know but they spent some years in Worcestershire. Its a shame not a lot of Herefordshire records are online I'll be contacting the church on brilley anything I find I'll post. Would love to work on the family together cousin
