Title: Seeking Info on George Crowcher of the 53 foot
Post by: Kisschick64 on Saturday 24 January 15 09:02 GMT (UK): Im seeking any info on George Crowcher. I have a war medal from India that was amongst my Great Great Grandfathers possessions ( Thomas Francis McCarthy) which has Georges name on it and says he was from the 53 foot...Its a Punjab medal so am unsure if he was British Army or Indian. Would appreciate any info on George.

Post by: ShaunJ on Saturday 24 January 15 09:16 GMT (UK): There was a Sergeant George Croucher who served with 53rd Foot 1838-1860 including 15 years in East Indies. Born Lyndhurst circa 1819. Appears on the Indian Mutiny medal roll.
