Hi
This is probably a bit of a long-shot as I've trawled Ancestry for some time but can anyone advise on the facilities to check Birkenhead electoral rolls circa 1930, short of visiting in person?
I have a marriage cert for my husband's grandmother Eileen Stewart which names her father as Frederick Kimber STEWART. I can't find anything else on him at all.
Would appreciate advice/suggestions.
Many thanks, Jane

When and where was Eileen born? (assuming she is deceased now, otherwise do not post details about her)
OOh and just to add, Welcome to Rootschat! Sorry, missed that this is your first post!
-
Presumably, she is the Eileen Stuart who married Birkenhead 1935 to Edward Irving?
Possible birth registration?
June qtr 1917
Birkenhead district vol 8a, page 880
Stuart, Eileen Mother's maiden name: Gibson
-
or she could be the Eileen Stewart (as per OP), who married in 1930 - Birkenhead ?
-
Thank you for the quick replies, and the welcome.
Eileen married John Flaherty. Her dob is between 1908 & 1912 (different on marriage & death cert).
There are several Eileen's so trying to trace father first. No idea who mother might be.
Marriage cert shows her living at 35 Harding Ave, Birkenhead, John Flaherty in Queen's Buildings (working on the tunnel).
I'm hoping Eileen didn't live alone, hence wanting to check the e-rolls.

Occupation of Father Frederick on marriage certificate?
Scottish or Irish?
-
She wont appear on the electoral register until she is 'officially' 21 years of age and then if she chose to register to vote.
-
Occ stated as Carter (journeyman).

If this is her death, at too young an age, then age at marriage must be 21/22 to be born in 1908?
Deaths June quarter 1946 Eileen Flaherty 34 Keighley 9a 269 (so born 1911/1912)
Age at marriage wrong but made to be older so did not need permission?
If age at death correct then not on 1911 census with parents.

Forgot to ask:
Definitely KIMBER?
Any useful witnesses to the marriage?
-
Definitely Kimber, unless transcribed wrongly onto copy cert but doubt it. Joseph Kenna & Annie Kenna were the witnesses, and there are lots of Joseph's, but have found one in Keighley which is where Eileen & John moved to - so this is something to follow-up I guess.
Many thanks to all for the help & advice.
