Title: William James
Post by: Jane101 on Sunday 01 February 15 14:13 GMT (UK)
Hi -
William James married Henrietta Sarah Burnham in the 1860s. I know William was born around 1839/1840 Cornwall and Henrietta was born around 1840/1841 London. I want to find out who William's parents were and find him in the 1841/1851/1861 census. I have already found him in the 1881 census where he and Henrietta are living in Cornwall with their children - William, Henrietta, Jane, John, Earnest and Fred. - All born Camborne, Cornwall including William.

Thank you if you do find out anything and reply  ;D

It's on Ancestry - for which you must have a subscription.

I just did a search for William James, born 1839, Cambourne, Cornwall with a wfie Henrietta.
First hit under Family Trees.

Can you find Henrietta (William James wife) in the 1841/1851/1861 census?
I think her maiden name was Burnham? Her father as you said was Henry Burnham. Can you also find who her mother was. I think it was an Elizabeth Fleming - her father John Fleming. Perhaps find a marriage record for Elizabeth Fleming and Henry Burnham?

Thanks

Tabitha  :)

I wonder if you could help me.

My auntie (mom's side) said my dad's dad (Francis James) third son of John Roe James and Emma Robotham had 4 siblings.

John
Fred
Ethel
Bessie

However the family know nothing about Bessie at all.

Furthermore my dad knew Ethel as aunt Bess.

Could this be a mess up or was there a child misplaced?

That death is not her, Bessie aged 2 weeks is in Kings Norton in 1911 ( Census 2nd April 1911 so cannot be her.
