Title: Margaret Davies lol
Post by: valerie1 on Tuesday 03 February 15 14:57 GMT (UK)
Help and advice please before I send for this marraige certificate, can anyone look at the info to see if I'm making a blunder.
Found Maggie Davies living in Peel street Abergele 1911 census which is where she came from, married to Robert Thomas Davies her age is two years out but there seems to be some crossing out in the  Margin
She has three children, it states marraige 1904 the only marraige I can find us for a Margaret Ann in 1904 in Wrexham.
Trying not to get to excited

I don't see any crossing out except to change the marriage/children totals from his col to hers and ages put in female col  ???

The marriage is given on North Wales BMD as a St Asaph Civil Marriage in 1904.She is given as Margaret Ann.

The middle name was often left of birth records, maybe they thought it cost extra with the middle name.lol

Maybe William who knows what they thought, it was the address  that drew me,  according to the deceased son of Hannah he thought she had two boys but I could not let this pass, I have found another marraige much later 1917 my eye went to that as well as the groom surname was Morris and there was a Margaret Davies working at a butchers with the head being a Morris but very late to go to Pattagonia

I know I'm easily confused William it say 3 children born 3 living, what do you mean about Rose Ann?

I'd hate to put a dampener on all this. There is at least a possibility that the Jenny Davies daughter who surely is the one given born in the March quarter of 1905,may not have married and may be the death given in the Rhuddlan District in 1988.

Rose Ann's death shows in 1913.

Before I speculate too much, have you considered the 1908 civil marriage,St Asaph district between Maggie Davies and John Roberts?

For what it's worth, here is my speculation based on the 1908 marriage.
There is a travel record for a J D Roberts(farmer),Mrs Roberts(no Christian name),Master B D and Miss B Roberts aboard the Orita travelling from Liverpool,November 1911 for Puerto Madryn.No ages are given.
There is a Blodwen Roberts(mother's maiden name Davies),registered in the 4th quarter 1911 in St Asaph district.Registration may not closely indicate birth of course.I can't find an obvious birth for Master B D nor find the family in the 1911 census, but as it's been such a long time without success I thought it worth speculating.

Roger

I've been trying to go through Val's various threads but there are a lot of them - maybe something in them that you might be able to pick up on.

Yes,I've looked at a few.I seem to have a memory from looking at this quite a while ago that there was a possibility ff two children involved, but it might have been a different query altogether!

I'm here I'm here lol, firstly thank you for bothering to look because I know I have been the proverbial pain in the bottom re Margaret, but you are all so helpful and I can't manage without coming on here I have Ansestry but apart from census I can't seem to do what you all do, magic stuff I can't find..
Roger I have been searching so long I don't know who I have looked it and who I havent, when I started 15 years ago I knew nothing but what Dr Barnardo's told me about my Mother.
By help here and my begging letters to who ever would read them I stumbled on my mothers family and slowly the info came in but it's only the last two years I have really been documenting it all.
So I found a second cousin who was in Australia his mother (Hannah ) was Margaret's sister and in a letter to me from him March 1987, he was explaining to me that he was sure nobody knew about my mother and in the next paragraph he said"Maggie my mothers eldest sister, married and went to Pattagonia in South America I belive she had two sons, of course I never asked her married name how stupid of me..
So it could be she had a boy and a girl who knows, this is all I know about Margaret Davies apart from her BC high is in my possession.
Roger the marraige and the passenger list sounds good very good.
Thank you all for your time
Val
