Do you have the marriage cert for the Ephraim born 1825?  Does it show his fathers name as Ephraim?

Hi

You need to confirm his fathers details from the marriage cert or you could end up researching the wrong person

With a birthyear of 1776 - Ephraim snr would have been about 49yrs old when Ephraim jnr was born.  Whilst it's by no means impossible for him to be his father - it's also not impossible that he could have been his grandfather

Hi All we know is Ephraim snr was married in 1801 to Ann Eve, does this help?

That would mean Ephraim was born 24yrs after that marriage.  Again - not impossible but what proof do you have that his father was Ephraim?

In 1841 he is not with any family members so your only proof of his fathers name is via his marriage cert

Is this the assumed 'father'?

It could well be that the younger Ephraim is a grandchild in view of older child/ children found by Heather.
You need the marriage certificate as advised earlier.
