Hi Guys. I am helping someone out trying to find relatives so he can start his tree. I'm starting with Ernest 'George' Ley b1905 who married Doris Irene Stevens b1911 in 1936 in the Barnstaple area. I believe they were from farming family in North Devon & as there are so many Ley's I want to make sure I have the correct family before I go ahead.

Yes - that's fine now. Probably all your other posts were relating to deceased people so you would not have known. It's to protect people's privacy and also to prevent identity fraud

I believe his wife died in St Austell area in 1971. That's the area he was looking in. I think they moved from Devon to Cornwall & now back again :-\

Hi. I'm trying to get him to order a marriage certificate, but he's not computer savvy & the other side of Devon from me! Ancestry is free this weekend & I might have a look to see what I can find. Sometimes I'm just too kind, he was looking for help from the farming community & I suggested sites/places to look. He really could do with someone like me closer to him to sit & run through it all! It as easy when the kids were small as I had so much time when the napped, but I work now & am too busy really. One day I'll retire & move into a Family research centre lol.

Hi, New to this, but I have been looking into the former residents of our area.
Ernest G Ley and Alice Ley come up along with a number of other 'Ley' family members in the same community of Berrynarbor. Names include George Ley and John Ley as well as an older Ernest Ley.
Census data shows the Ley name registered as living in Goosewell.
Thought it may help.
