This site www.wamarriage.info/ gives fairly recent marriages in W.A. ... up to about 1970.

From Cupoflife's post,  I can see Richard was known by his middle name, Roy and he had a fiancee.   See the notice  for J.M. GODFREY in the West Australian 27 Dec 1945.
Loved father of my darling finance, Roy (RAAF missing) .......

hi cupoflife--sad to see that jack godfrey took his own life in dec 1945--perhaps the missing in action notices in the september for his son richard were too much for him, may he rest in peace--homer48
