Post by: 1803Emirates on Sunday 08 February 15 12:57 GMT (UK)
The Clare Library has an Index to Biographical Notices 1935-1985

I would appreciate a lookup for the following
Michael Twomey 20/12/1969 obit died 07/08/1969
Ellen Twomey 18/8/1951 obit died 07/08/1951
Thomas Francis Twomey obit 25/06/1982

Hopefully it will give me the parents of Ellen Twomey(nee Flanagan)
Thank you

i have a nz marriage cert dated 1884 for a daniel flanagan of co clare
,daniel aged 28yrs father michael flanagan mother mary connor
daniel therefore born 1856.
I know its a long shot!
but i have found a baptism at kilmichil for a daniel to michael flanagan and mary connor 7/6/1856
also a catherine to same parents 17/11/1854
i beleive the records started 1849,so working backwards and forwards griffen valuations,
i have a michael married to honor flanagan at lissanair and athomas flanagan married to maria kenny, who both have an ellen, but looking at dates,i am sure the ellen married to michael twomey is from michael and honor, with the above records i found an aunt in law margaret flanagan so i think sister to michael and thomas.
goosh i do hope thats makes some sense,i have not found any other records to firm up my theory
a work in progress.

Michael and Ellen Twomey were my grandparents. TF was my uncle. All are now deceased for many decades. Ellen as you know, was a Flanagan whose family had connections in Kilmahill in Co Clare. As a child I was there in a family pub sometime in the late 1950s or early 1960s. To the best of my recollection my great grandmothers maiden name was Hunt - I think Ellen Hunt but I’m not sure about that. To be honest, she may have been my great, great grandmother I’m writing this from memories of conversations of many decades ago and this all goes back to famine times.  I hope this is of some use to you. Thank you Michael,
You are right about the surname Hunt but the first name is Jane not Ellen.
I am still struggling with the Flanagan side, I have Ellen’s parents as Michael and honor Flanagan. I am close but the connections to my Daniel Flanagan still are not working something is alluding me
I am interested in the pub you mention was that a Flanagan pub or a twomey connection.
I think once you have posted twice I could send you a private message
As I would love to follow up
Kind regards Karen F
