Hello,
I am writing a paper (due next week!!) on the Fitzgerald family from the Kilglass, Kilbehenny area and I'm totally confused. Before I attempt to begin researching, I want to put together a cheat sheet so I can systematically begin my research. Are you able to assist me?
Province: Munster (there are four in the country)
County: Limerick (there are 26 counties in the Republic of Ireland, 6 in Northern Ireland = 32 in total)
Barony: Coshlea (there are 14 baronies in the county)
Parish: Kilbeheny (how many parishes are there in Kilbeheny?)
What comes next a Townland, Diocese or Poor Law Union? I am unable to find a map on-line.
Also a lovely lady once mentioned a free index on IFHF; I am unable to find it and wonder if it would be worth my while to subscribe for a week/month?
Best regards.
Wendy

Coshlea Barony has 17 Civil Parishes.. http://www.logainm.ie/en/151, click on "Parishes" and you'll get their names
Kilbeheny has 25 townlands.. http://www.logainm.ie/en/1551?s=Kilbeheny click on "Townlands" and you'll get their names
A Diocese is bigger than a Parish so goes before Parish. There are no Parishes in Kilbeheny.. it is a Parish!
