Hi,
I am seeking information on the above couple, my grandparents. I know very little about them. Joseph was Canadian and Kate was the daughter of James McDonnell. They were married in 1919 or 1920 and had 6 children. They left Castlerea in 1941 or 1942. I know they lived in Ballindrimley ?? at one time. I found 2 newspaper cuttings, one involving an eviction order being granted against Joseph and the other involving a neighbour dispute in relation to animals trespassing. Any information, particularly relating to Kate's mother, would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

Hi Dathai,
Thank you for your replies and the information. Do you know if I visit the National Archives in Dublin, will I be allowed to look at the file, namely; Joseph Seely: Visas for Gt. Britain
Reference DFA/4/202/1334?
I have reason to believe Joseph's first name may well have been Francis.
I do hope that is the family in the 1911 census. The fact that you can't find them in the 1901 census would tie in with a piece of information I have that Katie was born in England(poss Liverpool), and the family are presumably recorded on the England census for 1901. I will check this out.
Thanks again Dathai for your help.
Paul.

I would say the fact that it's on the Archives you should be able to view it .

Some documents/files may need to be ordered ahead of time depending on their location in the building or if off site so probably best to inquire before planning a trip.
