What sort of information are you looking for?
-
Thank you very much for getting back so quickly. I am trying to find out when he died and where he died. Trying to find out anything about his life since he was in the North East of Scotland in the 1940s. Did you know of him? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Katrina

Have you searched for a death in Scotland yet?
If you think he came back to Northern Ireland you can search GRONI's index for death but they only go up to 1969. Will extracts are also online (www.proni.gov.uk) but records there might also not be recent enough.
-
Thank you yes have searched both Scotland and Northern Ireland but as you say perhaps a bit recent for NI. Many thanks for your advice

There's a birth registration for a Wilson Thompson Jan./Mar.1917 Limavady registration district but he could have been born late 1916 and anywhere in that registration district. If you have an exact date of birth it might help find him in later records overseas.

I'm not related, but Wilson Thompson b.17 December 1916 was the son of Robert Thompson and Margaret McDermott of Bovevagh, here they are in 1911:

The couple had several more children after this.

Thank you very much for this information and for being so helpful. I cant seem to find any record of death for Wilson Thompson which is starting to make me think he may have gone off to the war or perhaps emigrated. I will keep on looking - perhaps someone from Limavady, who has some personal knowledge of the Thompson family will pick up the thread one of these days. Many thanks again for taking the time to respond
