Title: Elizabeth Morgan
Post by: deri on Friday 06 March 15 18:06 GMT (UK)
I am trying to trace a Elizabeth Morgan born Dec 11 1884 ? and married a William Phillips born 16 Sept 1877 Llanwrtyd Wells. There first child was Esther Gwen Phillips born in 1914.

I have hit a brick wall looking for Elizabeth, I don't know anything else about her.

When did they marry? Were there other children besides Esther?

I don't know where they got married or when
They had Megan b1916, Annie May 1918, Elizabeth Olwen b1923, Catherine b1924

I was hoping that they would have had older children - so you could find the family on 1911, and thus a birthplace for Elizabeth!
Back to the drawing board . . . .

How sure are you that Elizabeth's name is Morgan? I have looked for the children using freebmd and they seem to come up with mother's name as Jones :-\

Then that could lead to this possible marriage:

March 1914
Elizabeth Jones to William Phillips
Pontypridd    Vol:11a   Pg:881

Given the "100 year" restriction,I'll only speak generally. There looks to be a theoretical fit for the Jones solution in Builth records with the first child being born before a wedding in 1915.

I think you would be better ordering a birth cert for one of tbe children to confirm the mothers name, to see if you are on the right lines?
It may be that she had been married before, thus maiden name different from the name she married in (eg maiden name Jones, as on birth reg, but married a Morgan, thus the family story)
