Hi there

I found an address on a 1841 Census on Ancestry of Kroine Venel in Kilmaurs ???

It doesn't show up on any maps.  Can anyone help with this?

Presumably this is the Ancestry transcription. It would be worth looking at the image - you'll have to go to the Scotland's People website for this - and see if you can manage a better transcription!

Irvine Venel/Vennel would seem about right ... Irvine being in Ayrshire and all that!  A Google search instantly brought up three confirmations!
