Zachariah Seymour Leach, born 1803 Cogenhoe Northamptonshire. Possible parents John Leach and Sarah Seymour. Have looked on family search.
Thanks
Julie

A tree on Ancestry gives his parents as
John Leach born 28 Dec 1752 in Hanging Houghton, Northamptonshire and died Dec 1824 in Cogenhoe, Northamptonshire. Wife Sarah born 1753
It then gives John's parents as Zachariah Leach born 21 Jan 1727 in Hanging Houghton, Northamptonshire and died 12 Jan 1771 in Lamport, Northamptonshire. Wife Sarah Turril born 1730 in Northampton, Northamptonshire and died 25 Jun 1782 in Hanging Houghton, Northamptonshire.
Unfortunately no sources are given, so this would need checking.

Thank you
I saw the tree on ancestry but nothing to back it up. I am looking for an elderly friend.

Hi Julie ...
The parish registers for Cogenhoe and Lamport (which includes the hamlet of Hanging Houghton) have been transcribed and can be viewed for free on the FreeREG website (www.freereg.org.uk) - this may help you to verify the information given on the family tree.

Little and Great Houghton would be near Cogenhoe, where as
Hanging Houghton is the other side of the County.
Obviously folk travelled a lot further in the 18th-19th that is
sometimes thought so just thought I would mention.

Hi Julie,
Zachariah Seymour Leach is my 3 x Great Grandfather. My tree is on Ancestry. I got a lot of the information from Freereg, Familysearch and Ancestry. I don't always attach the source, but make a note of it instead. If I can help with your research in any way, please contact me,

For goodness sake, why didn't you say it was you Mary. :)
I should have known by the names, and what a tree it is.
I only have 2 Leachs on the tree I am still doing for you, hadn't forgotten.
There are so many folk who know each other here it is like home from home.
Take Care

I decided to do some of my own tree today Mary by sorting out endless pieces of paper :).
Pat bless him told me to slow down as I am sitting at the computer when
he gets up and still there 9 hours later.
I would rather have been at the Coffee Morning with you and all.
Hopefully oakhambred will pick up your kind offer of assistance.

Hi Mary
Zachariah Seymour Leach is my great, great grandfather. In my searches I've found Comfort Sturman as his wife. Their last child was Zachariah Charles who married Ada Maria Webster, my great grandparents. My grandmother was one of their daughters who emigrated from Bedford to Australiawith my grandfather who she met during WW1 when he was on leave in Bedford. They ended up in Sydney where they had 3 children, one of whom is my mother. I also live in Sydney now. I am so interested in my English heritage and would love to know where you fit in and how far back you've been able to track the Leach family.
Warmly
Julie ( a different one who asked the original question)
