Looking for the date of death for a Margaret Pallister, wife of flint glassmaker, Robert Pallister of Moray Street, Edinburgh. Maiden name CANVIN OR CAUVIN. Mothers (maiden) name: Margaret Anderson.
Death occurred AFTER Scotland Census of 8 April 1861(still living) and BEFORE 20 Aug 1863 (deceased marriage of Robert Pallister, widower, to Jane Miller, Edinburgh).

Tried umpteen times to find the death on Scotland's People website, but no luck. May be that she was buried with her children in Old Calton Burial Ground Edinburgh?

She couldn't be the Margaret Pallister who died in the June quarter of 1862 in Weardale, County Durham, England, could she?

Maybe so! Her husband was a flint glassmaker from Newcastle Upon Tyne and they were on the 1851 census as living in Newcastle. Thank You!
Oops - I just saw online, that her birthplace was Stanhope - Burials Weardale 1862 Margaret Pallister born abt 1818 Stanhope - which means this is not the MArgaret Pallister I am looking for.
Margaret Canvin/Cauvin was born in West Kirk Parish, Edinburgh, Scotland about 1815 and died between April 8 1861 to Aug 1863 ?

She may have been known as another name like a middle one I have come across this a few times and cost me plenty on credits, what name does it have on the son and daughters certificates.

As you see, Margaret's maiden name is Canvin on the entries.
1861 census has the Pallister family at 4 Moray Street, Edinburgh.

Robert Pallister was named widower, on the marriage certificate to his 2nd wife Jane Miller on Aug 20 1863

Unė kthimi i papenduar I cannot thank you enough for taking the time and trouble to find this record for me! We have been searching online for years for this record - we knew the mother of Margaret Cauvin had already tried to hide the identity of her daughter Margaret and 2 sons she had with a prior relationship before her marriage to Robert Duffus, cabinetmaker. Her daughter Margaret Cauvin used a false name on her marriage in 1846, and also on the deaths and birth of three of her children, even on statutory registration from 1855! It has been quite a puzzle to put together all the birth/death/marriage records of this family group. THANK YOU!!
