Post by: Rosemary Howell on Friday 27 March 15 10:47 GMT (UK)
Hello  ,This is my first time here. Hoping for some help with the Blue family. Daniel [ Angus] Blue born 26th Jan. 1762. in Greenock ? some of the family also went to Glasgow, and others went to Thorpe in Norfolk. Fingers crossed that some friendly members or perhaps family members can help. :)

Do you have his baptism? Son of Angus Blue & Mary Bain, baptised in Campbeltown Argyll 26/01/1762 (from the Scottish Births & Baptisms).

Members of the Blue families of Greenock were sugar refinery worker ... Alex & John in Greenock, George Meldrum and his son of the same name at Lyle's Plaistow Wharf refinery in Silvertown, London.

Details on my database at  www.mawer.clara.net/sugarbbio.html  including a link to an apprentice indenture. Also a couple of family photos at  www.mawer.clara.net/portraits.html .

Not specific to your original post, but may be of use.
