I cannot find any info on my g.grandfather's parent. G.grandfather was George McLachlan farm servant from Campbeltown, born around 1882. Married to Jessie Colville, born 1892.
Anyone have any info on this family please ?

Do you have him in any census ?....where do you get your info he was born Campbelltown ?
do you have his childrens names ?...if so - were any William or Margaret ?
it looks like a William McLachland and a Margaret (Black-maiden name) McLachlan had a George McLachlan in 1881

His son, my grandfather, George Colville McLachlan was born in Campbeltown in 1903. I got the g.grandfather & g. grandmother name from registers, but cannot find anything more than that.

Hi Larry - you have your dates wrong somewhere along the lines
George and Jessie had a son William baptised 22nd may 1891 - so Jessie Colville could not have been born 1892 ...??? and George could not have been born abt 1882 ...??

Thanks for pointing that out, can't believe I didn't even notice it !! Back to the drawing board for me then ! G. grandparents names definately correct, but I must have looked up the wrong Jessie Colville.

No problem - looks like Jessie was born 1869 - here she is in Campelltown aged 12 in 1881 census
maybe someone can get the family for you from the index number ?

ADDED I can't find a George McLachlan in 1881 or 1891 census in Campbelltown ....can another member please have a look in case I have missed him - thanks :)

Looks like George McLachlan, born 18/April/1866. Southend, Argyll, to parents Alexander McLachlan, and Margaret McMillan, who were married 04/June/1855. Campbletown, Argyll.

From the index FS entry that garstonite mentioned earlier for Jessie for the 1881 census, I thought she might be working at Strath Farm in Campbeltown in the Mitchell household with her brother John:
