Hi I am wondering if anyone can look up the baptism and parent details for Ann Lade born 1745 Warbleton, Sussex. Married Edward Stretton 4 Nov 1766 also at Warbleton. Thanks heaps

Hi Lisa B,
I cannot see a baptism for Ann Lade anywhere at that time. However, there is a burial for a Mrs Ann Lade 10 Sep 1746 in Warbleton and I wonder if that was her mother and perhaps died in childbirth? Possibly the baptism didn't happen at all or maybe much later.

Hi Sean thanks for your reply.
Is there a husband mentioned with the burial and did you see the marriage for Ann and Edward in 1766? Thanks heaps

Edward is of Willingdon. Ann's surname shows as Lades. She is otp. They married by licence.

Hi thanks for your reply. Was Ann of Warbleton or Willingdon?
-
otp is of the parish they married in so Warbleton.

Hi thanks for your help. Any idea how I may track Ann's father? Not had much luck so far the Lade/s seem to have come from Warbleton and prior from Kent, any help would be appreciated. I have attached the pedigree for anyone interested.

It might be worth your while joining the Sussex Family History Group as they have online registers available to members. I can see various Lade entries on the marriage CD that they sell, many in Warbleton, and the implication on those is that the family were wealthy. However, I can't see a suitable baptism for Ann in that area at the right time.

Ann Lade baptised 7 Mar 1746 Barham Kent to James Lade. This is why we cant find her in Warbleton she must have moved there as a child. Does anyone have any idea how many James Lade's were buried at Warbleton?

Did you join SFHG? You would be able to search for yourself then.
There only seem to be two. 26 July 1860 age 76 of Burwash and 28 June 1782 - no extra details.

Hi Sillgen. No I didn't join I should though. The 1782 James keeps popping up. He could fit as father or grandfather to Ann but I haven't managed to find that he had a child named James. He certainly fits the picture born Barham Kent then moved to Warbleton as did Ann. I think this James married Elizabeth Dadd his mother I think was Elizabeth Winter. I think this is the link!
