Does anyone have any information of the above family? My maternal grandmother was born a Pegg, and I'm currently researching that branch. I'm back to John Pegg, who married Alice Baker in Brinton, Norfolk, on 2 April 1770. I'm now stuck. Any info greatly appreciated. :)

Do you have all the children of that marriage?
Corpusty Registers
Thomas Pegg baptized 17 Dec 1770
John Pegg 23 May 1772
James Peg 30 July 1775
Thomas Peg 31 July 1780
Mary Peg 10 October 1783
William Peg 29 Dec 1787
There is also a burial record for John Pegg 12 June 1807 age 60, married man.
Looks like wife Alice remarried after John died.
Alice Peg, widow to Samuel Hipperson, widow, 11 March 1812 at Corpusty.
She is buried at Corpusty- Alice Hipperson 5 May 1829 aged 88.
Of the children James married 3 times, 22 March 1795 Martha Beatly, buried 7 March 1797
10 July 1798 to Martha Chapman, sister Mary Peg a witness, buried 29 March 1800
Lastly to Phillis Gould 13 September 1801.
There is a Richard Pegg and Susan in the same village, dau Susannah bap 11 May 1768 she married John Scott 1791

Thank you for the info. I did have all their children but Mary in my tree. James Pegg & Phillis Gould are my direct line.

Hi,
Probably your best bet for John's baptism is the John 'Pigge' baptised at Horsham St. Faith (some 13 miles southeast of Saxthorpe) on 28 Jun 1747 to Thomas & Elizabeth (née Ogg).
As for Alice, I can see two possibilities:
- baptised Oct 1738 in Field Dalling (10 mi NW) to John & Mary
- baptised 11 Sep 1738 in Hindolveston (6 mi W) to John & Elizabeth

Thank you. I shall look into that when I'm next in Norfolk Records Office. :)

Hi, I've traced my direct line back to James Pegg born 1801 in Corpusty. Is this the same family? Thanks

Hi, my James Pegg was born in 1806 but I assume all the Peggs around there were related in one way or another. :)
