Hi would anyone be able to find a register or baptism for Elizabeth Crishold. She is supposedly born around 1838, in Southwark. From her marriage to William James GEE in 1856 I have found her father's name. On the marriage banns a witness is Mary Ann Crishold - I do not know if this is a mother or sibling. Any help in finding any information on the above would be appreciated.

On her marriage record in 1856 it says she is of full age (21 or over), so either she fibbed or she was born earlier than 1838. If she was a servant in 1851, her employer may not have know her real age when the census form was filled in.

Hi at marriage her father was an Edward occ Hawker, in 1871 with the family is a Mary A Gee, but I believe incorrectly dittoed with rest of family shown as Mother in Law aged 61 occ Hawker b Southwark

Kathy beat me to it there. Newington is basically in Southwark. Have you been able to find William Gee with father William? It would not be the first time I'd seen bride and groom info mixed up on a cert. It's entirely possible that her father was William and his was Edward. Worth considering, certainly.

Hi the mother of William Gee is also living with the family in 1871, she is a Martha Gee, in 1851 she is married to a William, included in their children, is a William aged 16 ( 36 in 1871 above)

Maybe a red herring - or maybe this could be her in 1841, recorded as Clissold?

Perhaps Mary was a widow, Edward having died. Or perhaps Elizabeth was illegitimate and made up father Edward for her marriage cert.
modified - maybe not, as there is a Brixton christening for an Elizabeth Clissold, dtr of JAMES and Mary, which might be the girl from 1841. :(

Hi, apologies for the late response to these posts. The GEEs are also part of my family - William James GEE marries Elizabeth Crisshold, 1856, William's mother is Martha on the census mentioned, and I am not sure who the Mary Ann GEE who is also mentioned - it could be Williams grandmother (?), or an Aunt I suppose. His father is also William (from research).
