Title: Esau Harrison Sartin, East Coker (b.c 1836)
Post by: rutht22000 on Saturday 18 April 15 15:51 BST (UK)
Esau was born in around 1836, baptised on 29 May 1836, son of Hannah Sartin (who I believe is Hannah Sartin, daughter of Richard and Sarah who was born around 1811 in East Coker)

The baptism suggests he was illegitimate - names only Mum -  (although I have not seen any evidence to say one way or another) but after that baptism both he and Hannah disappear.

She is not the Hannah Sartin that marries Emanuel Pester in 1841 as there is a father in law Ephraim Sartin living with them in 1851 so I have discounted that Hannah.

Nor is she the Hannah Sartin that marries John Patten in 1840 as that Hannah is far too young.

I can't find Esau dying anywhere so any help where they might have ended up gratefully received

Thanks
Ruth

1901 -

Esau Sartin   55
Elizabeth Sartin   65
George Sartin   21

This would appear to be the Esau who married in 1869, howvere the age is not correct for the Esau you are researching  ???

Hi JJ

yes, I don't think that's him.  It seems that Esau was born in Halstock in around 1846 marrying Elizabeth Hallett living all his life in Halstock.  I think his parents are Joannah/Hannah and Eli.

There is a Harrison Sartin mentioned in the Knoxville Tennessee City Directory of 1890, as a carpenter on the street 'ss Nelson 4 e Bertrand' in Knoxville Tennessee.  (From ancestry)

Just placed here for consideration until we can find more information to disprove the connection.

I can see a Harrison Sartin born about 1867 Kentucky, which might be him.

Esau Harrison Sartin is named in a private tree on ancestry, but birth date about 1839 - is that your tree?

Thanks all - anyone is worth a look at at the moment ;)

That Ancestry tree is mine - I realised that I had his baptism as 1836 and birth as 1839 (typo  :-[) but changed it yesterday so it should show up as 36

Thanks Trish

I always forget about FreeREG  :-[

There was something I saw that gave her a 10 year plus age difference with the Hannah that married Mr Patten (perhaps it was a transcribing error) that put me off, but that FreeREG marriage does look suspiciously like her...  Thank you  :)

Now to find where Esau popped off too.....(where did you find his baptism?  mine was from a transcript)

I couldnt find anything for Esau other than his Bapstism.
I even checked under Harrison for him on Census..
But there are a couple of Esau Harrisons that might be his Father in East Coker in 1841/1851 Census.
