Spooky I was only thinking about this on Thursday. Been a while so not sure where I've put it. I will have a look for it this week.

Chaloner is a very unusual name. There is a Richard Chaloner in Griffiths here...it's a later date but could be related? http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml?action=doNameSearch&Submit.x=51&Submit.y=2&Submit=Submit&familyname=chaloner&firstname=First+Name&baronyname=&countyname=&unionname=&parishname=
He seems to have a lot of land ... I didn't look at the acreage. This is the only Chaloner in Griffiths. There's a William Crawford in Loughan, Kells too http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml?action=doNameSearch&familyname=crawford&firstname=&offset=40&countyname=MEATH&parishname=&unionname=&baronyname=&totalrows=62&PlaceID=0&wildcard=
Also a mention here https://books.google.ie/books?id=ADFbAAAAQAAJ&pg=PA257&lpg=PA257&dq=richard+chaloner+kells&source=bl&ots=jNG9slvd-4&sig=2C6BQeGyt-sdLQdA55dkfXghM-Q&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjf_7Pw2rrRAhUrDsAKHe0XC8sQ6AEIIzAB#v=onepage&q=richard%20chaloner%20kells&f=false

Richard Chaloner was the son of Claude William Cole-Hamilton.
His mother was Nicola Sophia Chaloner.
Upon her death he changed his name to Chaloner.

Leitrim Upper is in the Barony of Lower Kells Meath...so not County Leitrim.https://www.townlands.ie/meath/lower-kells/moynalty/leitrim-upper/

ok first 2 lines and my head hurts but I think people are on the right track.
THIS INDENTURE made the fifteenth day of june in the year of our Lord one thousand and seven hundred and sixty seven. BETWEEN Martin Tucker of Petersvile in County of meath Esquire of the one part and Richard chaloner of Kingsfort in the county of Meath Esq. and Robert Crawford of Kells in the County of Meath Esquire.
-
This Richard Chaloner is not the son of Nichola Sophia Cole-Hamilton (nee Chaloner). He was born 1810, and took the name of Chaloner to inherit from his maternal grandfather.
Nichola Sophia’s father was Richard Chaloner of Kingsfort, co. Meath. He was married 1784, so if he is the one mentioned for 1767 he would have been young. His father and grandfather were not called Richard, so he is the most likely candidate.

Yes....it is on the tree posted!

I edited my previous post for clarity. Richard Cole-Hamilton, who took the name Chaloner, was not alive in 1767

And I see from the Chaloner tree on your link that the elder Richard Chaloner had an uncle also Richard, so he also becomes a candidate I guess. I’m not sure who had Kingsfort in that earlier generation
