Until the late 1900s, church registers in Quebec served as civil and vital records in that province. Throughout the years a second copy of church records, from all denominations, was sent annually to the appropriate courthouse.
During the 1940s the vital record collections in courthouses throughout Quebec were filmed by the Institut Généalogique Drouin.* The filming of vital records continued for some areas up through the 1960s. Consequently, this filmed set of records became known as the Drouin Collection.

Hi Sandra,
There is so much information here, the family which mentions a baby called Irving Roberts would be related as the name Irving was also the name of my husbands brother before he had it changed by deed poll.
Thank you so much for all your hard work, I never thought I would get this going so quickly,as it has been slow going with my own family tree.

Page 14 - In the St. Paul’s River area there was an Inuit family composed of George Dukes and Jenny Menouque both of whom seem to have been “pure Eskimo.” The couple had 3 children - Mary, George and Andrew, and only one grand-daughter, Lucy Anne Dukes, who married John Goddard Jr. The name was carried on by their sons Charles (married to Selena Langmaid in 1890) and William (married to Catherine Thomas in 1918). By the 1960s there were 10 families descended from them (Goddards, Roberts and Keats).

Hello Fluffy1234. My name is Gary Roberts, living near Montreal, Quebec. My father is Ward A. Roberts, brother of Adelbert (Delbert) Roberts. My dad received a visit to Montreal from Delbert back in 1986 and they traveled up to their hometown St. Paul's River, Bonne Espérance Québec. I remember my Uncle Delbert quite fondly. My dad and Delbert were always together in their youth. Dad, Ward, is presently 99 years old and still going about.  The whole family, Roberts, from St.Paul's River and here in Montreal often wondered about Uncle Delbert's children and how they are getting along. You can contact me through this site...I just registered after viewing your search for your husband links with his family.... it's pretty interesting and wonderful...

Hi Gary,
What a great surprise to have finally (for us) to have made contact with a direct relative.
So my name is Elizabeth and I have been researching my husbands Canadian family for some years now.
My husband Norman known as Richard is the youngest of Adelbert’s sons.
Adelbert was know as Bob

John is the eldest born in 1948 and married with 3 daughters and 3 grandchildren. John and his wife live in England.
Irving  born 1949 married with 1 son and 2 stepchildren a numerous grandchildren. Irving known as Bob lives in Spain along with his wife.
And finally Richard born 1953 we have 1 son and 2 grandchildren.

Although I have been working on the family tree we don’t really know much about Adelbert’s siblings.
I have Donald 1911-1993 married Lillian Forder both died in California USA.
Ena 1913
Harold 1916
Then your dad Arnott Ward 1920.
I was unable to find any marriages for the above (including your dad).
So if you are able to fill me in on any family details we would be very great full.

Mathew Thomas and Lily Maud were their parents

My email address is (*) it may be better to chat on there as there are many many questions I have to ask, regarding Bob (Adelbert).
I hope to hear from you soon
Kind regards
Elizabeth and Richard.
