Found this and thought it was an interesting site that seems to have value to the family historian but also a general historian to find out how life was

On this site you can search the catalogues of a selection of independent and local authority run museums in Wiltshire, along with the art and photographic collections owned by Wiltshire Council.

There are over 200,000 records to search containing items ranging from archaeology to 20th Century art. It is this fantastic range of material that makes up the 'Treasures of Wiltshire'. At any one time most museums are only able to display a small percentage of the items in their collections.

These online catalogues are a way for you to find out about some of those objects that may not be on display.
