Title: Average Wage for a Scotsman

What would have been the average annual wage for a Scotsman in the 1800s?

What occupation?

Do you have a more specific date than 1800s?

You could have a read through this, though I don't know if it fits in with your time frame:

From an 1847 Stirling Court case -

"The pursuer, Archibald Hill, engaged with the defender, H. A. Galbraith, Esq, from Whitsunday last to Whitsunday next at £10 money wages besides six and one half bolls of oatmeal, and other articles of food, fuel etc"

It wasn't simply a matter of wages - the "add ons", including rent free housing etc, played a part
