I am trying to find more information on John Nutman born about 1794 Ancroft Northumberland and his wife Margaret Redpath . Their first son James is baptised at the Protestant Dissenting Congregation Belford 2.12.1818. The entry says of Hemshape Law Detchant but I can not find it in Detchant maybe it was a farm or house name.Detchant is very close to Bamburgh where they later lived. I am fairly sure theirs would have been an irregular marriage as they were common around the borders then.

The records of the later children's baptisms are on Freereg, assuming that it's the right family - children John, Dorothy, Isabella, George and Mary Jane.
The abode is given on all of them as Walkergate, Alnwick.
