Hi,
My wife's great, great grandfather Albert was reportedly born in Frant, Sussex in approx. 1827. There is no fathers name on his later wedding certificate.
Any further information greatfully accepted.

He married Alice Shirley in 1850 and 1851 census shows birthyear 1829 and 1861 has it as 1830

he's proving hard to locate in 1841 - and by 1851 he is married and with his father in law in Oxfirdshire, as per your other thread. Given he moves all over the place after that, he could be anywhere in 1841!

My best suggestion is that he's related in some way to an Edward Macpherson (or other spellings ) b Frant c1826. As a servant in 1841, no clues to family. There's an Edwin Jacob baptised to single mother Anne Macpherson in Frant in 1825 - I wonder if they are the same person.
the only Anne i can find in Sussex in 1841 is one in Brighthelmstone, but she's b c1820, so cannot be Edward's mother

Hi my wife's four/five times great grandfather was born in Frant in about 1827. Is it possible that there are any records from that time that could verify this?

He gives Frant as his birthplace on all the various census entries. Seems to have moved around a lot and died in 1894 in Lancashire. Trees on Family Search and Ancestry but no info re parentage
Married Alice Shirley 1850 in Oxfordshire - a copy of the marriage cert should give his fathers name
Nothing online with a baptism for him but some members have access to other records
