Hello,
I live in Broxburn, West Lothian, Scotland and our local family history group is researching those who lost their lives in World War 1.
Teague Gallagher, 6504, 1st Battalion Irish Guards, died 9 October 1917, age 24. He was the son of Patrick and Sophia Gallagher of Derrybeg, Letterkenny. He is on the Irish 1901 and 1911 census living at home. Interestingly, he is on the Scottish National War Memorial and I am wondering if he came to the Broxburn area to work after 1911. A Teague Gallagher is also mentioned on the memorial at St John Cantius Roman Catholic Chapel, Broxburn.
Does anyone know about this family or perhaps there is a newspaper article about Teague's death?
Thank you.

Thanks All,
I already have that information. I am trying to find a link between 6504 Teague, son of Patrick and Sophia, and Broxburn West Lothian. SDGW says he enlisted at Edinburgh, he is on the Scottish National war Memorial so he must have been in Scotland. However, needing evidence to prove this.
To add to my confusion, there is another Teague Gallagher born in the Broxburn area. He was baptised at St John Cantius Roman Catholic Chapel, Broxburn. Descendants of this Teague are unsure what happened to him.
The war memorial in St John Cantius has a Teague Gallagher. Unsure which Teague it is, hence me trying to find evidence. Wonder if anyone has access to the Donegal/Letterkenny local newspaper archive? Would there be an obituary?
Thanks,
Mags

Just came across this. My fathers name was Teague Gallagher. He was born in corveen Gweedore. He may have been related.
Very interesting as it’s not that common a name.
