Title: Sadie Scorer - irwin, PA - 1885
Post by: mazzie74 on Thursday 11 June 15 15:48 BST (UK)
Hi

I knew my wife's Gt-Gt-Gt-Aunt (Frances Scorer of Irwin, PA) had a daughter that died aged 10 in 1885.

I have just stumbled across a newspaper article online "Connellsville Keystone Courier - dated 31 December 1885" where it states she was killed by a train.

"Sadie, 10 year-old daughter of A.D. Scorer, of Irwin, was killed by an express train on the Pennsylvania road, while crossing the track last Thursday."

That would put her date of death as Thursday, 24th December 1885.

Can anybody find any details for me?

Also, the article is very pixelated - can anybody point me in the right direction as to where I can get a decent copy of the article?

Thanks,

Darin, England.
