I'm hoping somebody can help me with some info I'm searching for, I may have found it but if it's wrong then my family tree will be messed up.
My Great Great Grandfather Stephen Davies was born in 1841 St Martin's, Shropshire, he married Harriet Martin (1845-1932). They had 4 children, one of which was George H Davies (b.1868), don't think the 'H' was always used.
I've had trouble finding him after the 1891 census when he was 23 and at the family home, but after some long searches tonight I might have him as marrying a Matilda Bowyer (b.1875), the marriage was 1906.
Can anybody help with finding out if this George who married Matilda is in fact Stephen and Harriet's son? There are a lot of families in that area with the same names and so easy to mess up.
So far dates and ages are matching up but that doesn't always mean its correct.
TIA.

I did a search at ShropshireBMD and the result says the marriage was at Oswestry register office or Registrar attended.

Unfortunately any further details are unlikely to be online, so you may have to buy the marriage cert from the GRO to find out the father's names. You generally only find Anglican marriages online at Ancestry & FindMyPast
Have you found this George & Matilda in the 1911 census? if so, any clues there?
Sorry but we can't do 1911 searches for you.

Thanks. I've had to order certificates before for maiden names etc.
The only thing I have for 1911 is that there is a George H Davies age 43 and a Matilda Davies age 36 both as servants at an address in Oswestry, it also states they have been married for about 4 years.
