Title: Where is Munster St now?
Post by: rogerb on Friday 19 June 15 13:30 BST (UK)
I have a birth registered at 9 Munster St, Regents Park/Pancras in 1874. I found an online resource called maps.hunthouse.com which seemed to say that Munster St became Osnaburgh St in 1912.  However, looking at the Greenwood map from 1827 Osnaburgh St is already there but I cant find Munster St.  Has anyone got any links to a map of this area closer to 1874?

It's not here:
http://www.census1891.com/streets-m.php
so presumably that means it had disappeared by 1891 ....  :-\

It is on here (1885): www.londonancestor.com/maps/bc-marybone.htm

A continuation of Osnaburgh St - Munster St cuts through Munster Square, continuing to Cumberland Market.

I found the site you are referring to regarding Munster becoming Osnaburgh St. I am wondering if Munster was a continuation of Osnaburgh and was encorporated into it? Seems odd if you found Osnaburgh in 1827, unless there was more than one Osnaburgh ...  :-\

I see part of Osnaburgh Place became Osnaburgh St and part of it became Euston Rd in 1912 so obviously some reorganization taking place.

Added: well found avm.  :)
