Title: Barton-Le-Clay Marriage Look-Up Request
Post by: rebeccaclaire86 on Saturday 04 July 15 09:27 BST (UK)
Hi all,

I've found a marriage that I believe to be of my 7x great-grandparents William Rawson & Martha (potentially Johnson) which took place in Barton-le-Clay on 14th November 1734.  If anyone has access to the parish registers would you please be able to just look and see if there are any further details about this marriage - particularly regarding the parish they came from?  (I know the entries were usually quite simple that far back, but you can always hope!)

Many thanks in advance,

Becky

I don't have the Parish records but I have extracts that confirm it is Johnson but nothing else I am sorry. These extracts have been prepared by the Records Office Shire Hall Bedford

Thanks very much - I will keep my fingers crossed there might be more detail on the original (I know that's unlikely!)

Thanks for taking the time to look :)

The marriage is on Freereg, where he's described as Lawson, but no parishes of residence are shown. If dgibbins02 has the full transcript then it will include the parish of residence detail.

Many thanks - I did check FreeREG but missed that mis-transcription.  Cheers for looking  :)

Barton PR transcript has the 14/11/1734 marriage as William Rawson to Martha Johnson with no further details; despite FreeReg saying he's Lawson..... don't know if FreeReg transcribe from original registers or from the existing transcript. Anyway that's the only Rawson name entry in the reegister. There are 2 other Lawson enties but they're burials in 1774 & 1791 & not William or Martha.

Cheers John
