Here is a photo of my Uncle taken at Bolarium Camp SECUNDERABAD, can any one help with any info about this camp in WW11, and what branch of the British Army was stationed there.
I do not have anymore info myself.

Before Indian Independence and Police action in 1948, this was under the control of the British. Hence the legacy continues to this day, for not being part of the Hyderabad civic authority. The Prime Minister of Britain during the World War-II Sir Winston Churchill, while serving under the British Army in his early days (c. 1896), was stationed in the Secunderabad Cantonment, in the Trimulgherry area.

if the photo is dated 1945 then quite possibly he,s part of the 43rd royal tank regiment certainly the cap badge looks likely to be rtr , can,t find much on bolarum camp per se for that era ,but the 43rd rtr sailed for the far east in june 1945 and landed in india in preparation for the invasion of Malaya but soon after the war ended so the regiment were never operationally deployed in ww2.

Thanks Trevor for your info, I do have another pic of my Uncle standing by a tank.............its a 'tank' to me but you probably would know more.
