Hello,
if anyone is able to look up the following marriage in more detail, I'd be very grateful. The info I have is from IGI.
Marriage at Woolstone, Gloucester
1715 Feb 26 Henry Butler and Mary Stait
Any further details appreciated, thanks.

Are you sure, only I don't think there is a Woolstone in Gloucestershire
-
Free on the 'net'
Gloucestershire Parish Registers - Marriages Volume 14
Includes Woolaston, Gloucestershire, Marriages 1696 - 1837 (no marriage of Henry BUTLER to Mary STAIT - 26 February 1715)
There is a Woolstone in Berkshire

The information is from familysearch :)

Lisalisa is right. The IGI (LDS FamilySearch) has the details just as she has presented. Woolstone is a parish just north of Gotherington.
If you have free access to Glos. Parish Registers, Capetown, would you take another look?
I'd have to take a trip to the library to do this.

I have access to Ancestry and I haven't found the marriage in the Glos records they have.
If you look on the Hugh Wallis lists,
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyGloucester_(N-Z).htm#W
- the marriage is in the Woolstone, Gloucestershire records, listed in both 1714 and 1715. I would assume that is the same marriage listed twice with the 'new' year in the records starting (roughly) at the beginning of April resulting in both years being given.
I was hoping to confirm the transcription is correct (names) and also hoping that there might be a little more info, such as their respective parishes.
I wouldn't like to put anyone to extra trouble of special trips to the library, but if anyone has easy access, then that would be great, thanks.

The Wollaston parish records are on the Forest of Dean Family History Forum
Have cross-checked their information, with the transcripts from the Gloucestershire Parish Register Marriages Volume 14 - (which is free on line).
Forest of Dean records show
George GROOM - marrying Elizabeth HARRIS - 25 December 1715
Volume 14 records show
George GROOM - marrying Elizabeth HARRIS - Holy Day of the year 1715
-
Forest of Dean records
John HARTLET marrying - Mary ATKINS - 23 April 1715
Volume 14 records
John HANTLET alias MASON p Alvington and Mary ATKINS - 23 April 1715
Forest of Dean records
John HOLLOWAY marrying Mary WATKINS - 24 February 1715
Volume 14 records
John HOLLOWAY marrying MARY WATKINS - 24 February 1714
---
No sign at the moment on the Forest of Dean records or Volume 14 records of a Henry BUTLER marrying Mary STAIT (either side of 1715)
---
Ancestry appears to have a marriage of Henry BUTLER and Mary STAIT - but don't have access to this - to not sure where the marriage took place

I stand corrected; http://www.british-history.ac.uk/vch/glos/vol8/pp105-109

The Ancestry entry is just the extracted index from familysearch which only gives names, date & parish and film number. They don't appear to have this record from any other source. :-\

I must point out that Woolstone is just north of Cheltenham and Woolaston is near Lydney.
It also looks like the records for Woolstone start later.

I was just browsing on the Gloucester bmd site http://ww3.gloucestershire.gov.uk/bmd/
and found under coverage
- (Cheltenham registration district) Woolstone, St Martin Records of marriages between 1837 and 1891 destroyed by fire -
Obviously that isn't the period I am interested in, but presumably it suggests earlier registers exist, as suggested by the transcripts on the Hugh Wallis pages/IGI.
I have wondered if the Woolstone early records are 'in with' another parish register, as it is a small place, but if so, I haven't found them yet.
