There are no baptisms in Elston, the only ones in the time frame parents names and area are
Barnby in the Willows
5-1-1751 Anne
21-1-1753 Helen
There is however a marriage there
29-5-1750 Thomas Higgins & Anne Gilbert.
A Burial, 18-10-1753 Thomas Higgins.

Flintham
1-9-1758 Joseph
a marriage the year later
6-2-1759 Thomas Higgins & Ann Jackson

Syerston
00-00-1753 Alice.
10-2-1751 Tho. HIGINS
24-11-1755 Elizabeth HIGINS
burial's
5-9-1758 Ann Higgins abode Flintham buried Syerston notes wife of Thomas.
00-1-1754 Alce dau of Thomas & Ann
29-11-1754 John son of Thomas & Ann
5-9-1758 Joseph  son of Thomas abode Flintham.
So it seems Ann wife of Thomas may have died in childbed.

1753 00 00   Alice   Higgins ("Date unreadable" apparently although it gives the date as shown!)
1751 02 10   Tho.   HIGINS

Thankyou for information I have had a look on map and Syerston 0.9 miles from Elston so possibly they are the children of Thomas & Ann married Elston

Not sure if I have said something wrong here was only commenting on the fact I was given a marriage record on the same thread from Sunflower and systeron being close to Elston would possibly fit

Thanks again sorry if I have caused some confusion and I am wondering if you could look at another entry for me in tracing my Thomas Higgins (2nd fleet convict ancestor to Australia have never been able to find where he was from as there are no trials before 1860 for Derby where was tried and after years of researching came across and newspaper insertion for 1787 in the Mercury newspapers of the time where he states when he was arrested he comes he was in service in Red Hill and who is employer was etc have now tracked this down until this time had no idea he was even from Nottinghamshire )
Thomas Higgins baptised St Marys Nottingham 1750 was wondering if there would be more information on this birth

I did not say you had done anything wrong.
I wondered if in fact you had read my post,#5, previous to the one you posted #7 above asking for info on the birth of Thomas Higgens in Syerston.
In it I had given you the births of children in Syerston, Thomas included. :-\

Larkspur,
Yes I had seen and read it and had already put all the information aside as there was so much in it for me to look into with the burials etc   thought that the marriage I was given earlier in Elston  and births given by you for Syerston could be connected as only a short distance apart sorry for the confusion just confirming that these 2 records were perhaps a good lead
