A Great Aunt of mine, Edith Muriel Gale b1904 Norfolk, who performed as "Muriel Gale" was a half decent singer, and performed in many BBC and Prom concerts from 1930-1950 - she's across the BBC genome project, and UK newspapers, like a rash.
She eventually emigrated to NZ, and I have a snippet here:
Link to Auckland City Archives (http://www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/dbtw-wpd/exec/dbtwpub.dll?AC=SEE_ALSO&QF0=Descriptors&QI0==%22Gale,+Muriel%22&XC=/dbtw-wpd/exec/dbtwpub.dll&BU=&TN=LocHAM&SN=AUTO18447&SE=1502&RN=1&MR=0&TR=0&TX=1000&ES=0&CS=1&XP=&RF=Displayweb&EF=&DF=&RL=0&EL=0&DL=0&NP=2&ID=&MF=WPEngMsg.ini&MQ=&TI=0&DT=&ST=0&IR=26683&NR=0&NB=0&SV=0&SS=0&BG=&FG=&QS=&OEX=ISO-8859-1&OEH=ISO-8859-1)
showing activity in 5 October 1961.
I cannot find her death, nor anything much about her in NZ.
Can anyone help?

Wow - I go to sleep for the night, and a biography appears!!
I must go to sleep more often...
Seriously thanks to all the NZ people who have provided such excellent information; until I saw this info, I thought my gt-aunt had gone to NZ a spinster, and stayed that way.

Not many spinsters here Bugbear, Kiwi guys are so good looking!!

I am accessing the Times Archive via my local library; I had already sought (and found) Muriel in the British Newspaper Archive (BNA) and forgot that The Times is a notable omission from it.
Do I gather that Kiwi residents can get (much) more recent BMD data that a mere Brit?

Yes please - I think the marriage details are about the only thing missing from the story that is building here.
